We’re Building Momentum: Here’s What’s Coming in the Year Ahead

Buckle In, 2026 Is Going To Be Huge!

Happy New Year! I hope you managed a break with some sunshine, some sleep, and maybe even a moment where the kids weren’t fighting. We’re stepping into 2026 with excitement, momentum, and some very big things happening behind the scenes and I wanted you to be the first to hear what’s coming.

We’re Hauling a Home to Fieldays 2026

We’ve teamed up with the legends at Jazz Home Haulage, and not only will you be able to walk through our Albert (one of our most popular designs), open cupboards, poke around, and see the craftsmanship up close, but you’ll also get to watch exactly how these homes travel on the truck. Yes, Jazz is bringing their full truck-and-trailer unit so you can experience the part everyone finds the most exciting!

Build Capacity

Right now, our planned capacity for the upcoming year is 23 homes. With 7 of those spots already filled, we’re tracking toward another very busy season.
We may look to increase our capacity off the back of Fieldays which means we would need more exceptional builders joining our team. We’re incredibly selective; anyone who joins us must have an outstanding work ethic and fit into our tight-knit group of genuine, hardworking people. For us, increasing capacity is never something we take lightly. It’s about protecting the quality, culture, and care we’re known for.
So with that in mind…

Thinking About Building in 2026? Now’s the Time to Start!

If your goal is to move into a brand-new Exeter home in 2026, we encourage you to move into Concept Design as soon as possible.
This ensures we know you want a place in the queue and gives you the time you need to make confident choices about your layout, colours, and site planning, without the pressure of rushing later in the year.
Keep an eye out for another messages from us later in the month explaining our process in detail.

Celebrating 10 Years of Exeter

2026 will mark a decade since Exeter began.
It started with a small four-home development in Koutu, Rotorua, and from there we’ve grown into a thriving family business with some unforgettable moments along the way.

We navigated Covid shutdowns, survived the wild boom of 2021 and the daily price increases that followed, battled stock shortages, and even had a home stuck in Auckland for months during the 3-month lockdown, before finally getting it to its forever site in the Bay of Islands, where it now looks incredible.

We’ve partnered with government agencies to deliver warm, affordable homes, and we’re proud to have moved 21 families out of motels and into their own homes across Rotorua, Ōpōtiki, and Putāruru.

Today, we’re a team of 13 wonderful people, six full-time builders, plus dedicated procurement, pricing, project management, sales, and marketing. That strong foundation means we can focus on enhancing the experience for our clients and ensuring that everything we do is centred around you.

One milestone we’re especially proud of is hiring a dedicated Financial Controller. Their role is to ensure we run the most robust financial systems possible and treat every client’s money with absolute responsibility. Sadly, this is not standard practice in our industry; but it is at Exeter.

New Projects for the Year Ahead

So far, we are already working on a small development project for a local Iwi, building two of our popular Albert designs and one fully custom home built to meet unique Hawke’s Bay Council requirements. We are part-way through a huge home build for beachfront Marine Parade in Mount Maunganui and we’ve just launched our new range of homes, from rental level properties to Executive home level.

Interest Rates Are Down

Interest rates finally started to drop in 2025. If you’re looking for a long-term rental or a multi-unit investment, many projects are now getting back to cashflow neutral, even while meeting bank LVR requirements, if you choose the right site.

2026 is Going to Be a Big Year

We feel incredibly grateful for the trust you place in us, and we can’t wait to help more families and investors step into warm, healthy, beautifully built transportable homes.

If building is on your horizon this year, reach out; let’s begin your Concept Design and secure your spot. You don’t want to find yourself in the middle of the year trying to secure a Christmas handover. The earlier you start, the more time you’ll have to make the right decisions.

Here’s to a brilliant year ahead.
Warm regards,
Victoria
