Your questions answered

We have answered some of the commonly asked questions about Exeter Homes and the general aspects of purchasing a transportable home. If there is anything that isn’t covered below, or on our Process page, please get in touch.

How much is delivery?

Call our friendly team for a delivery estimate.

Can I make changes to the plans?

The most cost-effective option is to pick one of our standard plans. However, we can make minor changes to an existing plan, or we can work together to custom design your ideal new home.

Does it include Foundations?

No. Foundations are generally a site specific engineered design therefore cannot be priced until they have been designed by the engineer.

Many transportable homes don’t include floor coverings, what about you?

Exeter Homes are proud to build your new home ready to live in:
Floor coverings, painting and appliances are all included. Check out the full list on our Plans page.

What technical information do I need to know?

We realise it can seem like a daunting process to build a new home, but don’t worry, we’re here to help! Our Technical Information page is packed with details you may need to know; from geotech reports to service trenches. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, please give us a call!

How long does it take for my house to be built and delivered?

One of our standard transportable home plans takes approximately three months from sign up until delivery. Custom plans will require extra time.

Are there any size restrictions on transportable homes?

The maximum size we can build a 1-piece move, is 7.2m wide by 18m long. If you require a larger home, visit our office to discuss how we can help.

Can you build our new home on our site?

Due to the inefficiency of building on site, we choose to only build in our yard and deliver to your site. By doing this we are able to complete your project faster saving you precious time and money.

What are your terms of payment?

Our terms of payment are structured over six progress payments:

1. A deposit of 10% is required to secure your new home, payable upon signing a building contract.
2. 7% is payable upon delivery of your materials.
3. 10% is payable upon completion of the floor structure.
4. 40% is then required upon completion of the pre line inspection.
5. 30% is then required upon completion of construction.
6. The final payment of 3% is due once your new home has been delivered to your site and secured to your foundations.
